TIDE Education respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us.   • TIDE Education delivers trauma-informed de-escalation and nationally recognised first aid training to healthcare teams across Australia.
  • In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to TIDE Education. “You” refers to anyone who visits our website, enquires about training, or attends one of our courses.

2. What We Collect

  • Your name, job title, and the organisation you work for.
  • Contact details such as email address and phone number.
  • Details of your enquiry, including the course or service you are interested in, preferred dates, group size, and any accessibility or dietary requirements.
  • For participants in nationally recognised first aid training (HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTWHS005): your Unique Student Identifier (USI), date of birth, and evidence of competency as required by the VET Quality Framework.
  • Records of correspondence between you and us, including emails and completed forms.
  • Technical information automatically collected when you use our website, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL.
  • We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as health information unless you provide it voluntarily to support your participation in training, for example to request a reasonable adjustment.

3. How We Collect Your Information

  • Directly from you when you submit an enquiry through our website, email or phone us, book training for your team, or take part in a course.
  • From your employer or training coordinator, if they arrange training on your behalf.
  • Through cookies and similar technologies on our website, which help the site function, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some parts of the site may not work as intended.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide quotes or training proposals.
  • To schedule, deliver, and support face-to-face and live virtual training sessions.
  • To issue, record, and verify statements of attainment and certificates of completion.
  • To meet our regulatory, reporting, and record-keeping obligations under the VET Quality Framework and other applicable laws.
  • To improve our courses, resources, and website.
  • To send you service-related communications, such as booking confirmations, pre-course information, and post-course resources.
  • With your consent, to send occasional updates about new courses or relevant professional development.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

  • We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with parties who need it to help us deliver training or to meet a legal obligation.
  • ABC Licence Training (RTO 3399), our registered training partner for nationally recognised first aid units. ABC issues certification and handles course fees and USI verification for those units under its own privacy policy.
  • Qualified trainers and assessors we engage to deliver sessions on our behalf.
  • Your employer or training coordinator, where they have arranged training for you, limited to information they need to confirm attendance and completion.
  • Trusted service providers who host our website, manage our email, or provide IT and payment services, bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Government bodies or regulators where required by law, such as the National Centre for Vocational Education Research or the Australian Skills Quality Authority.

6. Storage, Security and Overseas Transfer

  • Personal information is stored in secure electronic systems protected by access controls, encryption in transit, and regular backups.
  • Paper records, where used, are stored securely and destroyed when no longer required.
  • Some of our service providers, such as email, cloud storage, and website hosting, may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as the law requires.
  • Training records associated with nationally recognised units are retained for the periods required by the VET Quality Framework, generally 30 years for records of student achievement.

8. Your Rights

  • You can ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
  • You can withdraw your consent to receiving marketing communications at any time, by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us.
  • You can make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.
  • To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

9. Children

  • Our services are provided to healthcare organisations and their staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete the information.

10. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website, with the “Last updated” date shown at the top.
  • Continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
