TIDE Education delivers nationally recognised first aid training alongside the Trauma-Informed De-Escalation (TIDE) program. We work with teams in healthcare, community services, and the justice sector, across Australia, to build safer, more confident responses in high-stakes moments.

Who We Serve.

TIDE works with teams from every kind of workplace, from offices and schools through to healthcare, community services, and justice-sector workforces across Australia. Whether you need first aid skills for everyday emergencies or trauma-informed de-escalation training for high-stakes, high-emotion interactions, we have the right course for your team.

For larger organisations we offer scalable delivery: large-group sessions, small-group tutorials, and blended pathways, with tailored pricing on request.

Not Another Webinar.

Through collaboration with Frameless Interactive, TIDE integrates advanced learning technology to create a highly interactive, practice-based experience. Participants actively engage in realistic scenarios, applying skills, not just learning them.

Participants will:

  • Observe a real-time patient escalation in a 360° immersive scenario (including a Code Black response)
  • Practise de-escalation using AI-driven conversational agents across multiple realistic scenarios
  • Develop practical communication strategies in a safe, supported learning environment
  • Receive a comprehensive workbook for ongoing reference
  • Gain a certificate with 6 CPD hours endorsed by APNA

From the Ward to the Classroom.

While working across hospitals, correctional facilities, and regional services across Australia, TIDE founder Misty Carey saw the same pattern everywhere: the toll of escalating aggression on staff and the people in their care. Drawing on frontline and lived experience, and co-developed with a Yamatji Malgana community leader whose cultural guidance shaped its foundation, Misty built TIDE (Trauma-Informed De-Escalation) to bring confidence, capability, and safety into high-risk moments.

“This training should be mandatory for anyone working in public service.”

Jess

“I gained skills in putting a lens over how we may have impacted or escalated situations and helping to instill that awareness with other staff.”

Nick

“VR was very helpful for different situations. When you practice in real life- saying something and seeing the reaction- you learn deeply. I got a lot out of TIDE’s training.”

Maria

“I think that providing a lifelike scenario where you can virtually interact with an respond to, is very helpful when navigating situations in real life. I found TIDE’s workshop very informative and insightful.”

Nicole

“I found learning about ACES (Adverse childhood events) and how trauma is linked to behavior to better understand people. I can’t wait to practice on colleagues tomorrow!!”

Matt

“A great tool for the ACCHO sector the approach of TIDE is embedded in ACCHO’s core principles that will hopefully improve health outcomes and provide better culturally appropriate access to services across the Kimberley”
